Music Advocacy Powerpoint
Here is a Power Point presentation I used for Back to School Night at my school. I swapped out the photos with pictures of my own students, (all with permission). The parents loved seeing pictures of their children at work and play in music class. New parents gained a sense of what music class will look like for their children. It ends with a wonderful two minute video that describes Orff Schulwerk. Children are shown singing, chanting, moving and playing instruments. This is a great way to introduce the Schulwerk to parents and administrators.
Your students may tell their parents what they do in music class but at times it’s difficult for parents to understand. This Power Point and video help show what the children do and explain why it is important. A picture or video is worth a thousand words. Set it to show on a loop and you can still chat with parents and answer their questions.
If Back to School Night has come and gone for you, consider changing the title page and use it for curriculum night, a school board presentation, or a curtain warming presentation before one of your performances. The slide show can be altered to fit your needs. I hope this is helpful!
