In this video, Josh Southard demonstrates how to replace broken flexible pins on a Studio 49 alto xylophone.
Materials:
- Drill with a 1/4″ drill bit
- Utility knife
- Glue
- Small vacuum cleaner
- Repair parts*
* Note: Josh references part AX-03, which contains 15 flexible pins and 15 steel nails, enough to replace every pin on a soprano or alto xylophone. Part XM-03 contains 15 flexible pins, which can be used on any Studio 49 xylophone or metallophone with flexible pins.
