Ashley Cuthbertson (she/her) is a Music Educator dedicated to the belief that music is a powerful force for expression, connection, and change. Ashley’s work focuses on designing and implementing culturally responsive and inclusive music instruction that supports learners’ understanding of themselves, others, and the world through music. A Nationally Board Certified Teacher, Ashley holds a Master’s in Education, as well as certifications in the Kodály approach and Arts integration. Ashley has over twelve years of experience in education as an elementary general music & choral educator, an elementary band educator, a K-12 musicianship instructor, a private lessons instructor, lead teacher, new teacher coach, and as an Adjunct Professor. In her current role as Founder & CEO of A. Cuthbertson Consulting, Ashley helps music educators improve their classroom environments and instruction by implementing culturally responsive & accessible instruction so that all learners can thrive in the music room. She believes that every student deserves access to a high quality music education, which begins first with ensuring that music educators are well supported and equipped with the skills and dispositions to ensure equitable, responsive, and sustainable music programs at their schools.
